Cleavon Little was an American actor who was best recognized for his outstanding portrayal of the character of Sheriff Bart in the Mel Brooks comedy film Blazing Saddles which was released in 1974.

His birth name was Cleavon Jake Little. He was born on 1 June  1939 in Chickasha, Oklahoma, U.S.A.  Cleavon is of American nationality having a mixed ethnicity background. He is the son of Malachi Little, while his mother's name has not been disclosed yet. On the other hand, his sibling brother, DeEtta Little, is a singer by occupation.

DeEtta is well known for her performance alongside Nelson Pigford for the vocals on the chart-topping Bill Conti song  Gonna Fly Now, which is the main theme song of the famous American film Rocky.

Cleavon Littlecompleted his high school education at Kearny High School in 1957. He went to San Diego City College and later transferred to San Diego State University to obtain his degree in dramatic arts. After that, he got a full scholarship at Juilliard and moved on to New York. After finishing his studies at  Juilliard, Little went to train in the American Academy of Dramatic Arts.

Professional Acting Career

Cleavon Little made his acting debut in the 1960s and went to act on movies such as John and Mary, Vanishing Point, FM,  The Salamander, Toy Soldiers, Fletch Lives, etc. His last film was Goin' to Chicago, which was released in 1991. Little had also acted on TV shows which include MacGyver, The Waltons, and Temperatures Rising. Furthermore, Cleavon worked on several Broadway production plays like Purlie, All Over Town, and I'm Not Rappaport.

Now moving towards his marital relationship, Cleavon Little was previously married to his wife, Valerie Wiggins. They tied their wedding knot in 1972. However, the ex-pair married life did not last much longer as they soon divorced in 1974. However, from their relationship, the former pair is also blessed with a  daughter, Adia Millett-Little, who is currently residing in Los Angeles.

Cleavon Little Cause of Death

Cleavon Little has gone through a prolonged battle with deadly ulcers and general stomach problems that he has suffered throughout his life. Cleavon cause of death was the result of colorectal cancer. He died at his home in the Sherman Oaks region of Los Angeles on 22  October 1992. His body was duly cremated, and his ashes were dispersed in the Pacific Ocean. For his tremendous contribution to the American entertainment industry, he was honored with a star on the famed Hollywood Walk of Fame on 1 February 1994.
